Website is Finished!

It only took me a few days due to Netflix distractions. I thought I could watch Jessica Jones and focus on building the website at the same time. I was so wrong. What should of only taken me a day turned into multiple days. Ah procrastination...one of many hidden talents in my skill set. Now before I start blogging my adventures again, I still have to go through all my google reviews and photo archives. Then I'll create a timeline. Last but not least I will be able to create a schedule for my postings. Once a month just sounds too slow but posting every day is too fast and I will run out of content lest I find more income to support my food adventures. I was also thinking of starting an online funding campaign for this blog but I should probably build a fan base first. *laughs awkwardly whilst one lonely tear falls comically from a persistent stare* I don't know what I'm doing but I love to write! So without further adieu, here is my new website.

I hope to one day add a link for an estore. I would love to sell a book, some shirts, and kitchen utensils. I might start doing contests soon like offering gift certificates or gift cards to restaurants from my adventures. Should I do a podcast? I can't believe podcasts have survived this long when vloggers have taken over the internet by storms. Well I can't judge since I'm still blogging. Do people still blog? Do you still read blogs religiously? Comment if you just randomly stumbled in here or if you are a fan? Follower? I don't know what to call you besides reader. Okay then are you a reader of this blog? BTW, I welcome all grammar and punctuation police here. This is a safe place. I can't wait to finish organizing so I can share my passion with you.

Buenos Noches mis amigos,

Creating A Website!

Since all my stuff is google related I decided to make a website for this blog using Google Sites. I'm now realizing that I need to change the title of my blog again. Sorry for the whiplash. Changing it People, Barroni and Joy. My vision for this passion project is finally coming together. I will update soon.

Rebirth of Delighted Tastebuds!

First off, I apologize for not updating the blog in forever. I have been experiencing the world and learning to adult. But get ready readers as this adventurous foodie busts some more delightful food porn on all your sweaty faces during this blazing summer of restaurant pop ups in Texas! The new stuff will come later once I'm done sorting through the years of pictures. I am revamping the blog. I have changed the original name of the blog from People, Barroni, and Juan to People, Barroni, and Joys (of life) to People, Barroni, and Journeys. I now have an instagram account for easy uploading of my spontaneous adventures. I might just keep pics there and just put links in the blog to each picture. I am still figuring things out as I explore this passionate hobby of mine. I want to also take my writing more seriously as well. More posts will be coming soon.

Chow for now,

Barroni

Bombay Chopsticks

So, this was our appetizer.  I said was because it didn't even last long enough for the picture. Yummy, yummy dumplings.  So, there's a ton of options for the main course.  Cool thing is that there's a happy hour menu, with full food portions available from 2 to 7pm. It's located in Las Colinas of MacArthur and 635. It's Chinese takeout done Indian style. Not exactly sure what part of India but you will feel it once you select one of their varying levels of spice. This is definitely a place to take someone that enjoys spicy food and challenging their tastebuds. But don't fret, there's plenty of mild options for the less adventurous. ;-)

B's take on "The Royal Roll" and Jupiter House

So I'm in Denton with my bestie Lizzy and she swears by these supposedly awesome cinnamon rolls. Well my mom and I are cinnamon roll connoisseurs so I'm basically skeptical. I try it an outer edge piece and I'm like eh...I need a microwave. I only like to eat them hot. So I'll review one I'm taking home tomorrow. But I did order two bad ass smoothies. Pluto's Peaches and Peaches N' Cream. Pluto's Peaches is more boldly citrus thanks to the mango and strawberry. PEACHES N CREAM is more light and sweet thanks to the banana. I love them both. Can't wait to try the rest of the menu board. Try Jupiter House on the square in Denton, Texas. Here's some food porn: ;-)

Best Cinnamon Roll Ever!!!

This is one of the cinnamon rolls that comes from Royal's Bakery & Deli that we got from Jupiter House in Denton, Tx. These cinnamon rolls are the most awesome things ever, even though Barroni has her doubts. Her doubts, though, come from the fact that she got this roll second hand, and not straight from the warm and gooey source of Royal's.

Royal's Bakery & Deli is located a little off the corner of Carrol and University in Denton, right next to that doughnut place called "Donut". It doesn't look like much on the outside, but inside is country-chic and family friendly. The best part is the huge baking table where you can watch these rolls get made.

Let me tell you a bit about these rolls, because I had the pleasure of watching them make these one morning when I rolled in early on my way to work. There are only three things you need to know about them:

1. These rolls are made fresh every two batches. One batch makes about two dozen rolls, so they're made fresh pretty regularly. If Royal's runs out, they make more right in front of you; the bar seating next to the till allows you to watch!

2. Instead of using the less flavorful but cheaper white sugar, Royal's recipe calls for brown sugar, which preserves moistness, flavor, and bonds to the cinnamon better.

3. ALL THE BUTTER!! They use a lot of butter in this recipe, from the batter to the cinnamon mixture to the icing (which is also homemade, btw). ALL THE BUTTER!

Noodle Wave in Richardson, Texas

So it was my first time ever eating out for curry. I'm used to homemade curry made by my Vietnamese step father and perfected by my American mother. I had coconut curry with this awesome bread and rice. My friend Greg had a red spicy curry. We had two appetizers. I orders shrimp blankets and he ordered crab ragoon. Both tasted fresh with a satisfying crunch. The sauces were unique and seemed like they were made from scratch. Before ordering we were served complimentary bowls of what looked like a rice porridge laden with cilantro. The broth was good but I'm not really one for cilantro unless it's in a small quantity of salsa. All in all it was a decent lunch. The dinner versions are almost twice the price for most entrees. The decor is amazing and so breath taking.  If you feel like a splurge with good people then visit noodlewave.com
